Who do I see?

I don't have a pre-req, what do I do now?

A pre-req identifies knowledge you are expected to have prior to joining a course. Each course has its own list of pre-reqs.  Failure to complete a pre-req means that you cannot take the course in BUS, ACCT or HROB, as you lack the prior learning required for that specific course.

Only in exceptional cases (e.g.  Transfer students, course changes etc) will students without pre-reqs be allowed based on course availability in the last week before classes start.

A course is full or I want access to it, even though I don’t meet the requirements. What do I do?

When a course is full, it means that we are at capacity for the course. We have restrictions based on physical space and course teaching styles.

If you would like to get into a course that is full, you will be added to a waitlist managed by the academic advisor, who will prioritize the waitlist based on a variety of factors (e.g. expected graduation date, completion of pre-reqs, exceptional circumstances).

What should I bring to the meeting?

As academic advisors, we do NOT have access to your transcripts. If you are meeting because you think you have an acceptable pre-req or need the course for a specific reason, you will need to provide some evidence of this. We suggest you bring us a print out of your program evaluation from webadvisor if you need to get on a waitlist for a full course, or one where you do not have the pre-requisite.
